Luwero Netball Club was the brainchild of Rosemary Nkinzu, the club’s manager, who officially launched it in June 2017. A group of young, talented ladies who had been carefully selected received sponsorship from Kamulegeya, marking the club’s brave first steps. Despite their efforts, the club did not achieve promotion that year. However, they bounced back, achieving promotion in 2018 under Rosemary’s dedicated guidance, even amidst the challenges of a global pandemic. Rosemary’s extensive coaching experience, including roles as a Pathway Coach, Selector, and Technical Support Coach for the national team, has provided young players with invaluable opportunities to learn from the best and receive high-quality coaching to elevate their game. Although they didn’t qualify for the first division that year, their determination and resilience eventually paid off. Despite facing numerous challenges, Luwero Netball Club has continued to make a positive impact on the league. This year, their efforts have been recognized with a sponsorship from KayeAI, a company on a mission to leverage artificial intelligence across the continent to drive progress and improvement.
